Lead Teacher Description: The Teacher is responsible for the care and education of a group of children as a part of a teaching team and functions as a team leader. The teacher plans and implements the curriculum along with active participation of the other members of their teaching team. Together this team will work to assess the needs and developmental accomplishments of individual children. The teacher also communicates daily with parents about the individual goals and accomplishments of their child.

Secondary Teacher Description: The secondary teacher or classroom aid is also responsible for the care and education of the children in their care but is willing to take directions and follow plans set by the lead teacher. This teacher should have a positive attitude and the ability to provide feedback and a fresh perspective to their teaching team. As a team, they will help with all necessary classroom functions, including covering the class when the lead teacher is not there.

Minimum Requirements - Individuals must have successfully completed the following:

• CPR and First Aid Training

• 40 Hour State Mandated Training (or working toward certificate)

• CDA or CDA equivalency Certificate (or working toward certificate)

Two years minimum experience working directly with young children is preferred, but not required.
Background in Montessori Methods or a willingness to learn more about it is a must.

All applicants must be highly motivated, creative and innovative as well as a person of integrity with high morals and values, and very patient. Applicant must display excellent oral and written communication skills and have a positive attitude. Teacher must be effective in time management and a person in good health, who is capable of lifting up to 40 pounds with ease. Also, must be a person who initiates tasks without having to be asked or assigned to do them. A flexible schedule is a plus.
